Reuse and Valorization of Corks
Every time you celebrate and you pop a bottle of good wine, save the cork. You can give that cork a new life.
How? Simply throw the cork in the dedicated bin made available by Contarina and Amorim Cork Italia at our bistro. That cork will become another object and will be used in another supply chain thanks to the reuse and social inclusion ‘Cork Project’.
The Cork Journey
Cork is a natural and sustainable material used to make various products, first and foremost bottle caps.
Thanks to the partnership between Contarina and Amorim Cork Italia, the collected corks are crushed and become an excellent insulator used in construction for example. In this way, a great-value recyclable material such as cork is recovered and not wasted.
At the same time, the project gives the go to a correct and sustainable collection and valorization chain of cork, which also assigns an important role to other local entities.
Cooperation with the Treviso Prison
As a matter of fact, the treatment of the collected corks is carried out by the detained people in the Treviso Prison.
Therefore, not only is the project limited to the recovery of material, but it also creates job opportunities in synergy with the local prison, the Alternativa Ambiente cooperative and other non-profit organizations.
It is a zero-mile supply chain with a social sustainability network that works every day to support inclusive and participation activities of citizens and voluntary associations. The social and solidarity aspect of this project is guaranteed by a financial contribution given to the non-profit organizations participating in the project in order to support their activities.
Whether at home or at work during our corporate events, for special occasions or when a new pressure vessel is delivered, remember to save the corks.
